RF Sourcing Guides
Convert a sourcing request into a defined purchasing specification. These guides cover China-based supply coordination, distributor evaluation, OEM LoRa purchasing and bulk or obsolete requirements.
02 /LoRa & Wireless
Select a transceiver around the existing board, host firmware, operating region and production plan. Family similarity is a starting point for investigation, not proof of compatibility.
03 /RF Performance
Read RF specifications with their conditions attached. Frequency capability, output power, receiver sensitivity, noise figure and current consumption describe different parts of a design decision.
04 /RF Front-End
Source the transmit, receive, switching and filtering functions as parts of an RF chain. The right requirement includes operating band, bias, signal conditions, package and assembly constraints.
05 /Obsolete & Alternatives
Handle a supply constraint without turning an unverified substitute into a production commitment. Distinguish a shortage, a lifecycle notice and a redesign decision.
06 /Applications
Translate an application into device requirements and purchasing questions. These are engineering and procurement scenarios, not claims of RFVero projects or customer outcomes.
RF Performance
The guide set deliberately avoids an overall performance ranking. Compare the same measurement definition and operating point; use production-relevant limits and a customer-approved system test plan.
Use these linked English guides to define the requirement, identify sourcing risks and plan customer engineering review. The following coverage labels are topics within this collection, not claims of completed projects.
Questions covered
- Frequency Range
- Output Power
- Receiver Sensitivity
- Noise Figure
- Power Consumption
- RF Performance Test Conditions
Carry the conditions with the number.
| Metric | Conditions to preserve | Decision boundary |
|---|---|---|
| Frequency range | Exact device/version and RF path; intended channel and matching network. | Documented chip coverage is not permission for every regional channel. |
| Output power | Measurement plane, frequency, waveform, supply/bias, load, duty cycle and temperature. | Conducted output and system radiated power are different quantities. |
| Receiver sensitivity | Modulation, bandwidth, spreading factor/coding, data rate, packet setup, PER/BER criterion and temperature. | A smaller number at a different modem setting is not a fair winner. |
| Noise figure | Frequency band, gain state, source/load conditions, bias, case temperature and measurement setup. | Use the actual LNA and system context; do not transfer a typical NF to another part. |
| Power consumption | Supply, regulator mode, active/idle/sleep states, transition times, reporting schedule and external circuitry. | One chip-current figure does not predict product battery life. |
| Interface and supply | Exact logic thresholds, timing, pin functions, startup and permitted operating range. | SPI compatibility and a shared nominal supply do not establish interchangeability. |
A specific conditions example
SX1276/77/78/79 Rev. 7 §2.5.5 defines default LoRa conditions including a 3.3 V supply, 25°C, 125 kHz bandwidth, SF12, error-correction setting 4/6 and 1% PER. Packet configuration, matching and row-specific exceptions also matter. These defaults belong to that table; they are not assigned to SX1262, SX1268 or another device.
For ADL8108 Rev. 0, the specification tables state band-specific conditions including supply, bias setting and case temperature. The tables and curves must be read together rather than treating a feature-page noise figure as a universal value.
