Procurement guidance · Updated 29 October 2026 · Manufacturer references identify product context; offered lots and system suitability require separate review.
The purchasing problem
A smart-meter BOM may need repeat purchases over several production releases. Procurement has to preserve the approved radio configuration while handling lot, packaging and lifecycle questions.
What changes the requirement
Metering platforms may use different wireless architectures. A LoRa transceiver, an integrated wireless MCU and a separate RF front-end are different purchasing objects. Confirm the system architecture and target market before discussing alternatives. Manufacturer application examples do not mean every part suits every metering design.
Sourcing risks
Choosing a device only because it is described for smart metering can overlook the approved band, supply, control interface and board implementation. Combining lots without agreement can also complicate incoming inspection and production records.
Before requesting a quotation
- Meter platform and approved BOM revision
- Exact transceiver and front-end MPNs, including package suffixes
- Target region and engineer-approved band configuration
- Quantity per production release and lot consistency requirements
A practical procurement approach
Plan staged purchasing against the approved BOM. Ask for available lot and packaging information before accepting an offer. Treat changes to the transceiver or front-end as engineering changes, with customer validation before production use.
RFVero sourcing support
RFVero coordinates RF semiconductor identification, supplier enquiries and quotation preparation from China. Share the full manufacturer part number, quantity, required date and evidence requirements. Source availability, lot information, documentation, packaging and delivery terms are confirmed in the written quotation. Laboratory measurements and design qualification are not represented as in-house services.
Manufacturer references
Portfolio and documentation references checked 29 October 2026. These pages establish product context, not RFVero stock, authorisation or performance guarantees. Use the exact manufacturer datasheet revision and test conditions for technical approval.
