Procurement guidance · Updated 29 October 2026 · Manufacturer references identify product context; offered lots and system suitability require separate review.
Direct answer
A module manufacturer may buy bare RF ICs, companion front-end devices and supporting components for several board revisions. Procurement must distinguish the module’s own part number from the manufacturer semiconductor order codes used to build it.
Technical and purchasing context
The module footprint does not describe its internal chip package. Radio, host firmware, reference clock, matching and antenna connections form an approved integration. Purchasing a bare IC also does not provide a finished module’s certification, firmware image or production calibration process. These remain part of the customer’s manufacturing responsibility.
Procurement risks
A source offer can confuse a development kit, finished radio module and bare semiconductor. Loose samples may also differ from the production packing requirement. An alternative inside the module can affect layout, yield and regulatory evidence even if the finished module’s external connector is unchanged.
Verification checklist
- Bare IC versus finished-module requirement
- Approved internal BOM and module revision
- Full chip order codes and packing formats
- Sample, pilot and production stages
- Engineering approval and manufacturing acceptance criteria
Practical recommendations
Submit the approved semiconductor BOM rather than only the module brand or application name. Reconfirm actual offered packaging and available lot evidence for each production release. Keep sample qualification records linked to the evaluated MPN, and review any proposed replacement as a separate engineering change.
RFVero sourcing support
RFVero coordinates requirements, available manufacturer information, supplier questions and quotations. Offered source, packaging, batch evidence and delivery conditions are confirmed for each purchase. Customer engineering defines design approval and any external test scope; RFVero does not claim a laboratory or universal replacement compatibility.
Manufacturer references
Portfolio and documentation references checked 29 October 2026. These pages establish product context, not RFVero stock, authorisation or performance guarantees. Use the exact manufacturer datasheet revision and test conditions for technical approval.
